But let's not kid ourselves: your death is a question of when, not if.
Facing the reality of death can be daunting, but leaving your people without a plan is even scarier.

Why Hello, Mortal?
Hello, Mortal was created by Maura, a death doula and former hospice director, who understands the profound impact of end-of-life planning from both professional and personal experience.
After losing her mother, Maura was deeply moved by the letters her mom wrote for the family to open after she was gone—each one meant for a special moment. Including one, Maura waited 14 years to open on her wedding day, a gift that gives her chills every time she thinks about it.
Inspired by her mother's thoughtful legacy, Maura set out to create a platform that goes beyond the legalities and logistics to help you craft a plan infused with meaning and love. Hello, Mortal isn’t just about paperwork (although we do that too); it’s about making sure your final wishes are clear and easing the burden for your people when they need it most.
Still not convinced? Consider this ⬇️
What happens after you die?:
- Will you choose burial, cremation, or maybe composting? Make it clear now, so others don’t have to guess later.
- Do you want an AI version of “you” chatting with the people you love after you’re gone? Set it up while you're alive (or leave clear instructions not to); otherwise, they might create one themselves, and who knows what it’ll say.
- Have you organized your essential digital info, like logins and passwords, in one place? It could be the difference between ease and chaos for your people.
- Do you believe in an afterlife or simply nothing after death? Consider leaving a sign for your people—a symbol, word, or object that could help them through the grieving process.
- Who will look after your furry, plant, or human babies—and do they know the important details? Make sure they’re not just in the right hands but that those hands know their favorite bedtime stories, meals, and quirks.
- What should happen to your social media—memorialize it, delete it, or leave it active? And who will you trust to handle it all, including deleting those "hidden” nudes on your phone?
Does any of this sound like you?
- I’ve thought about it, but I haven’t actually written anything down.
- I’ve got a will, but I haven’t touched the emotional or digital stuff—like writing letters or organizing passwords.
- When one of my parents died, it was a mess—I don’t want to leave my kids in the same situation.
